Altura is a purpose-built beach resort on the eastern side of the Algarve, perfect for a fun-filled family holiday to Portugal. The eastern side is less developed than the western side and contains five beautiful, Blue Flag approved, beaches. Altura’s silky soft sands melt into crystal-clear waters that are perfect for swimming and ideal for children paddling in the shallows. There is a modest selection of bars and restaurants in Altura but the most commercial resort on the eastern side is Monte Gordo. It is only ten minutes away and offers a dining option to suit every budget and taste. The vibrant nightlife in Monte Gordo is equally enthralling with everything from folk nights to full-on clubs. There is also a casino where you can catch an internationally-renowned stage show or have some fun at the tables. A package holiday to the Algarve has something for everyone.
