Guia is a charming village built on an ancient Roman settlement, 30km from Faro airport and right next to Albufeira, the most famous resort in the Algarve. The village is set back from the coast and affords stunning views across the verdant countryside, giving it a rural feel. However it’s also very well-located to access the beautiful beaches of Gale and Castelo. Praia do Castelo is framed by rugged, natural sandstones cliffs and is arguably the best cove beach in the region whereas Gale offers a host of water sports to try.

Guia is also the culinary capital of the region, renowned for its collection of restaurants serving up the traditional Portuguese speciality, Chicken Piri-Piri.
