Pattaya: Introduction

When most people think of Thailand, they picture idyllic white beaches, crystal-clear water and tropical palm trees. With a Pattaya holiday you will be getting all that and more. Although it boasts some of the best beaches in Asia, a holiday to Pattaya is not just mile-upon-mile of beautiful golden sand. The region also has a vibrant nightlife, though admittedly it is not as raucous as Phuket’s, ample opportunity for snorkelling and scuba-diving and is conveniently located for visiting the tourist sites of other islands.

Reasons to visit
If you are looking for a budget package deal to one of Thailand's liveliest and most popular resorts, you won't be disappointed with a cheap holiday to Pattaya. With an abundance of activities and beaches, ranging from the tranquil to the action-packed, a Pattaya holiday has enough on offer to cater for everyone’s needs.

Things to see and do
As mentioned, with a cheap Pattaya holiday there are plenty of beaches to choose from. As well as the half-moon-shaped Pattaya Beach with its hotels, street stalls, water sports and nightlife, there is the less chaotic Jomtien Beach, which is close to all the action, but much more peaceful. With no shops or nightlife nearby, Wong Prachan Beach is another quiet beach, offering serenity and relaxation and another option is Naklua Beach at the end of Pattaya Bay. Day trips to Pattaya’s surrounding islands make for enjoyable swimming, fishing and coral viewing .The Far Islands are the prime scuba-diving destinations in and around the region. In Pattaya City there is a vast range of activities, from water sports to shopping to golf and with a package holiday to Pattaya, you might be lucky enough to catch one of the regions many popular festivals and world famous events.

Kids attractions
The perfect family holiday, Pattaya has plenty of activities to keep children entertained. Elephant rides and dolphin shows at The Sanctuary of Truth will keep you occupied for a full day and Ripley’s Believe it or Not, with its collection of oddities, creepy haunted house and 4-D motion movie theatre will keep kids amused for hours. For a more action-packed Pattaya holiday, there is the Pattaya Water Park and Amusement Park which has water slides for kids and a small theme park with a roller coaster.

Weather
Like the rest of Thailand, Pattaya is subject to the annual monsoon rains, which are heaviest from May to October. Pattaya’s weather is hot all year round, with an average peak temperature of 29C, but perhaps the best time to book your Pattaya package holiday is in December or January as they are the coolest and driest months of the year.
