Ortakent Villas Introduction

Set near the old inland village of Ortakent, these lovely stone-built villas stand within a mountain backdrop and are ideal for a peaceful holiday. The village, with its shops and restaurants, is less than half a kilometre along the road and Ortakent beach, which offers a long curve of sands fringed by waterfront cafes and tamarisk trees, is just a 10-minute drive from the door.

With their stonework and simple architecture, the villas make a great first impression - looking simultaneously modern and rustic. Outside, paved gardens surround each property, giving way to an inviting private pool. A covered terrace, complete with a wooden table and chairs, stands nearby, and each villa comes with a number of cushioned sunloungers so you can lie by the pool in comfort. A portable barbecue is also on hand for when you want to cook outside in the sunshine.

Inside, the designers have continued the country theme, with stone arches, wooden flooring and colourful rugs taking centre stage. On the ground floor, there is a charming sitting room with a traditional stone fireplace and across the hallway, a well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen-diner with doors to the pool terrace. Upstairs, meanwhile, there are three simple but inviting bedrooms done out in cosy pine. The old-world Turkish feel of the interiors is balanced by a good supply of mod cons, including satellite TV and a DVD player in the sitting room and air-conditioning in the bedrooms.
