Having travelled to the Turquoise Coast for the last 12 years, I have grown to love the culture, the place, the people and all the area has to offer. Two of the great things for me are that there are a number of resorts which can easily be visited and there's a great selection of excursions. I love going to the Fish market in Fethiye to select my favourite seafood and then have it cooked in one of my favourite restaurants - it doesn't get much better than that for service! To get a feel for the real Turkish culture, I like to visit the Bazaar and Shisha bars and stroll around the cobbled streets. I also like wandering along the marina, looking at the boats and gulets as I people watch, and sometimes if I'm lucky, I've seen turtles swimming amongst the boats - just awesome! Fethiye has one of the biggest markets in the area which is great for picking up bargains and souvenirs, and also, I've found some fantastic boat trips. Hisaronu is somewhere I love visiting - it has a sleepy village feel by day then great restaurants, bars and entertainment by night - and is resort that really does have something to offer all ages. In Olu Deniz not only do I love spending days on the beautiful stretch of long, soft shingle beach and swimming in the turquoise sea, I also love to spend days at the Blue Lagoon. This is one of the most picturesque and amazing places to swim and even has two resident turtles, which can often be seen at sunset. Boat trips are another of my favourite pastimes, and there's so much choice for a great day out, such as Nicholas Island, Blue Caves, the Aquarium and the Cold Water Springs. After a day on the boats I enjoy nothing better than going to one of the rooftop bars for a cocktail or two, watching the world go by. The sunsets are stunning and I also enjoy watching more daring tourists, taking the plunge by paragliding from the mountain.
