I love the glitz and glamour that Dubai has to offer and how it makes me feel a million dollars, yet head into the old town and you feel you have stepped back in time. I have been to Dubai a few times now and each time it never fails to amaze me. The hotels that line Jumeirah Beach are ever more impressive and they always make customer satisfaction their top priority, giving the highest level of service I have ever experienced.

The shopping malls are so impressive and I have found that most hotels run complimentary daily shuttle services to the Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates. Both of these are well worth a visit; one of them includes an indoor ski centre, the other an aquarium!

In Dubai City don't miss a trip to see the fountains at night which are lit with different colours and move to music, set in front of a backdrop of the Burj Dubai - the tallest building in the world.

For a thrilling afternoon experience be sure to experience a Jeep Safari. The 4x4 picked us up from our hotel and drove us into the dessert where we met around 10 other Jeeps and then followed each other through sand dunes on an exhilarating adventure and then to a camp where we enjoyed a buffet, belly dancing and traditional Arabian delicacies such as Arabic Coffee and Shisha pipes.

There are also two incredible waterparks attached to major hotels which have a vast array of rides appealing to all ages and even include swimming pools and lazy rivers for those who prefer a little relaxation!

We booked a City Tour whilst we were there and our tour guide showed us the sights of the old town including the bustling souk where you can find many spices and gold, plus we experienced a ride on an Abra over the Creek - a real slice of old Dubai before all the glitz and glamour arrived, which I would highly recommend as it gives a true insight into the Arabian culture and Muslim faith.
