Shops can be found selling essentials and souvenirs in most resorts. Corralejo holds a local goods market on a Monday and Friday mornings and in Costa Caleta there is a local market every Saturday morning selling local crafts and souvenirs, plus the Atlantico commercial centre. You can pick up some good buys such as, electrical items, lace, tax free goods, leather goods and wooden crafts.
Cuisine
Specialities to sample include, Gofio a roasted maize; goats cheese; potatoes and Mojo Picon sauce; Viejas which is fish; Sanocho Canario, a fish in a hot sauce and local honey rum. There are numerous restaurants, cafes and bars serving tasty cuisines from local to international in all resorts. Fresh fish restaurants can be found in most areas.
Night-life
Cafes and bars can be found in most resorts. Some of the larger hotels have entertainment most evenings, events include folklore shows, dancing and cabaret. There are some British bars in Corralejo which are lively, as well as numerous quiet ones to enjoy a relaxed evening. The main square has live entertainment most evenings including flamenco, folklore and live music. In Costa Caleta there is one main nightclub, and a good selection of bars suitable for either a lively or more relaxed evening of entertainment.
