Fancy a few rounds of golf while you're here? If so, then you won't be disappointed: the Antalya region is one of Turkey's best spots for enjoying the sport. The area around Belek boasts a number of first-class courses where, thanks to the country's mild climate, it's possible to play at any time of year. The three main courses are all 18-holers: the Tat Beach with its three 9-hole loops in a lovely setting overlooking the sea; the pine-forested Gloria Golf Resort famed for its deep bunkers and ponds; and the Nobilis course just outside Belek, which has an academy offering lessons for beginners and children.

If you've got some energy to use up, quad biking and mountain biking are really taking off in Turkey and it's easy to find rental operators from whom to hire your bikes for a day. Mountain biking in the hills makes a fantastic contrast to the beach and your resort, and most hotels will point you in the direction of quad biking operators or offer their own facilities.

Horse-riding is available, watersports abound around the beaches and there's even rafting in Koprula Kanyon. For adventure-lovers, Side boasts a Aqualand theme park. The waterfalls of Kursunlu and the ancient city of Aspendos are also worth a visit.

Side has two golden sandy beaches on either side of the peninsula and a small sandy cove in the town centre. Lara Beach, the resort's star attraction, is soft powdery and golden sands, which stretch as far as the eye can see. Belek also has fabulous beaches.
