Cosmos Cares

We're committed to protecting the places we visit. By employing environmentally friendly coaches and partnering with preservation and sustainability initiatives, we’re working to ensure the world’s icons will be here to thrill travellers for generations to come.

Sustainable Tourism

Cosmos is committed to sustainable travel and minimizing its impact on the environment and to reducing its dependence on non-renewable resources. In this endeavour, we have implemented policies to support this mission and are working carefully to enhance our products with this mission and our values combined. We are committed to complying with all relevant legislation and/or regulations.

Cosmos maintains a policy of "Leave Only Footprints and Take Only Photos." Our staff and major service providers strive to ensure that no removal of any natural or cultural artefacts or materials to ensure our environment looks and functions the same before and after our visit. Our tour directors educate Cosmos passengers on our "do no harm" code of conduct to ensure that the passengers comply.

Cosmos is committed to reduce transportation-related energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. Globus utilizes the latest model coaches available and equipped with the latest technology in emission control and reduction. In addition, these modern coaches provide 206.6 passenger miles per gallon and on average are seven times more energy and fuel efficient than a single-occupancy automobile. Each coach replaces as many as 55 passenger cars on the roads, slashing fuel usage and pollution emissions.

Tourism Cares

Our partnership with Tourism Cares, a non-profit initiative established by the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), helps us show off the world's most spectacular destinations and sights - and take responsibility to preserve the attractions that our travellers go to great lengths to experience. Cosmos has targeted a number of iconic destinations for preservation/restoration funding. Our passengers can also get involved directly through additional contributions. Wildland Firefighter Foundation

Our guests don't just see some of the most majestic scenery in the world...they are helping us with our commitment to preserving these beautiful lands for future generations. In addition to introducing travellers to the treasures and beauty of America's national parks, Cosmos is proud to partner with the Wildland Firefighter Foundation to help support the brave firefighters who protect our private and public lands from wildfires. We make a contribution to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation for every traveller we bring on a GoParks! Tour, at no additional cost to you! Wildlife Conservation Network

We support the Wildlife Conservation Network, which protects endangered species and preserves their natural habitats by supporting entrepreneurial conservationists who pursue innovative strategies for people and wildlife to co-exist and thrive.

The Lion Recovery Fund (LRF) has been established by the Wildlife Conservation Network to double the number of lions by 2050. The solution to lion recovery lies in turning protected landscapes - core reserves and the communal lands in, around, and between them - into lionscapes where lions are protected and restored, while communities thrive.

South African National Parks Honorary Rangers

When you join any Globus Africa vacation, we will make a contribution to the SANParks Honorary Rangers and the Lion Recovery Fund—at no additional cost to you. It’s our way of showing support for the ongoing efforts to save this wonderful species from extinction.

Over the last decade, South Africa has seen a massive increase in rhino poaching - from just a few a year to well in the hundreds. Of this number, around half reside in properties managed by SANParks, making the organization’s preservation efforts critical to the survival of this species.

As poachers continue to use more sophisticated methods, the fight to protect the rhino becomes an even greater challenge. To this end, the SANParks Honorary Rangers help supply the dedicated field rangers and counter-poaching teams with the valuable equipment that is essential to their success.
