The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the Memphis, built on the Mississippi River, well known for the influential strains of blues, soul and rock ‘n’ roll. Discover the Downtown area, experience the sound of Jazz along Beale Street or visit the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King was assassinated, now the Civil Rights Museum.

New Orleans is a lively, historically-rich city, known for its raucous nightlife, pulsing live music scene and spicy cuisine. A city where French, African and American cultures come together, it embodies the spirit of Mardi Gras, the fiery festival known for its street parties and wild costumed parades. Why not take an optional city tour to see the French Quarter, including St Louis Cathedral, Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, and the Garden District, to admire its stately mansions. If there is time, experience the Algiers Ferry on the iconic Mississippi River.

Do not miss St John's Cathedral, built in 1847 and the oldest, most important Anglican Church in Central America, or the famous lighthouse, which marks the grave of the Portuguese Baron, a man who left a great fortune to Belize. Or perhaps venture further afield to explore ancient Mayan cities.
