Enjoy the ideal combination of sun, sand and culture as you sail to six unique Greek destinations aboard the grand Royal Princess. We transport you back to Ancient Greece, introducing you to cities that sing with history. Explore the ruins of the first Olympic stadium in Katakolon, wander through Kotor's medieval streets, then watch the sunset from a pavement café in whitewashed Mykonos Town.
Fly to Athens and board the Royal Princess for your seven night Greek Islands cruise.
Arrive in Katakolon, a sleepy fishing village on the western coast of Greece. This seaside town is most famous for being the gateway to Olympia, the site of the original Olympic Games. Join a walking tour of the area to see the ancient Olympic stadium as well as the Temple of Zeus and the Temple of Hera. You may want to continue your exploration of Ancient Greece at the Olympia Archaeological Museum, which houses a range of decorative sculptures.
Today your journey brings you to the atmospheric town of Kotor on the coast of Montenegro. Located on the beautiful Boka Bay, Kotor treats its visitors to dramatic mountain scenery and a maze of medieval architecture throughout the town. Take a wander around the narrow streets of the old city to see stone houses, palaces, and churches dating back to the 12th century, or follow the city walls up to the fortress of Saint Ivan.
Instantly recognisable from its whitewashed buildings and blue domed roofs, picture-perfect Mykonos is the most glamorous island in Greece’s portfolio. Its golden sandy beaches are lined with hip restaurants and bars, which are frequented by a stylish crowd. For the best views, wander over to the famous windmills along the shore, or head straight for Mykonos Town for boutique shops, local tavernas, art galleries and cascading bougainvillea around every corner.
The largest of the Dodecanese Islands, Rhodes is a historical gem with a fortified old town and streets that date back to the Crusades. Start your historical tour in the old town, which is still home to some 6,000 people today. Here you’ll find the Palace of the Grand Masters and the famous Streets of Knights, a medieval road which was home to the Knights of St. John.
Continue your journey to charming Khios, one the biggest islands in Greece. Nicknamed the ‘Mastic Island’, Khios is the only place in the world to commercially produce mastic- a prized source for the island. Use today to relax or explore. Nea Moni Monastery, Prygi village and the Mesta district offer a fantastic insight into Khios’ medieval past. Or for a break from touring you may want to sample a traditional dish at a local taverna.
After breakfast, disembark in Athens and transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK.
