Built to resemble a traditional Russian hamlet, Mandrogui is set amid pretty parkland on the banks of the Svir River and is peppered with pretty wooden buildings topped with colourful tiles and wood carvings. There will be a Russian language lesson in the afternoon and a film about the cruise before tonight’s Captains Dinner with a glass of champagne, followed by this evening’s talent show.

This morning, admire St Petersburg's historic centre on an included tour and take in highlights such as the Old Stock Exchange and Rostral Columns, the impressive Winter Palace façade, Peter and Paul Fortress, and Nevsky Prospect with its ornate onion-domed Church of the Resurrection and beautiful St Isaac Cathedral. After an included lunch in a city-centre restaurant, visit the world-famous Hermitage Museum, housed in the winter palace of Catherine the Great.
