VIP home pick-up service

Our VIP home pick-up service is included up to 50 miles to your departure airport. Your driver will happily load and unload your luggage, and drive you to your departure terminal. At the close of your trip, you'll be welcomed by your driver in the arrivals hall and returned home again. A supplement is payable per mile over 50 miles.

Travel to Luxor where you will be met and transferred to the Steigenberger Legacy for embarkation. If you are on a late flight, sandwiches will be provided in your cabin.

Luxor - Edfu

Situated on the site of ancient Thebes, once the pharaoh's capital, Luxor is a feast of temple ruins and grand monuments, and is often referred to as the world's greatest open-air museum. This morning visit the impressive Karnak and Luxor Temples. Featuring a host of smaller temples and shrines, the highlight of the massive Karnak Temple complex is undoubtedly the atmospheric Hypostyle Hall; a remarkable architectural achievement of 134 enormous pillars, the highest 70 feet tall, and each about 45 feet around. This afternoon set sail for the ancient city of Edfu, situated on the west bank of the Nile River between Esna and Aswan.

Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan

With its cool ante-chambers and polished-granite sanctuary, the Temple of Horus was built during the Ptolemaic period, between 237 and 57 BC, and is one of the best preserved temples in Egypt. Sail on to Kom Ombo for a ship's orientation tour, and then continue your cruise to Aswan, for a Galabaya 'Egyptian night' party this evening.

A full day to explore the impressive sights of Aswan, including the remarkable Aswan Dam, an epic construction which created Lake Nasser, the world's largest artificial lake. Located on an island in the reservoir of the Aswan Low Dam, downstream of the Aswan Dam, is the Temple of Isis at Philae. With its striking colonnades and delightful reliefs, the temple was saved from destruction and rebuilt on higher land brick-by-brick in an incredible construction project. It is undoubtedly one of Egypt's most beautiful temples. Today's tour continues with a visit to the Unfinished Obelisk in the northern region fo the city's stone quarries. This sleeping granite giant would have reached a stunning height of 42 meters if erected. Enjoy a Nubian folkloric show this evening.

Aswan

In the morning there is an optional visit to the magnificent rock temples of Abu Simbel, one of the most renowned ancient Egyptian landmarks, flanked by the giant-seated figures of Ramesses II on his throne. This afternoon sail on a traditional Egyptian Felucca to the botanic gardens of Kitchener's Island, given as a gift to Lord Kitchener. Explore the tranquil, lush grounds of palm trees and exotic plants.

Kom Ombo - Luxor

An early sail to Kom Ombo and a morning visit to the Greco Roman Temple Kom Ombo; a double-sided temple dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god, and Horus the falcon-headed god. After your temple visit, set sail and return to Luxor, this evening enjoy a disco party.

A full day in Luxor to explore the epic Valley of the Kings in the West Bank. Used as a burial ground for Ancient Egyptian royalty between the 16th and 11th century BC, the site's most famous resident was Tutankhamun, discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. Perhaps enjoy an optional visit to this site. You'll also visit the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and towering Colossi of Memnon. This evening, enjoy a belly dancing show,

After breakfast, disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK or extend your stay in Luxor.
