You don't have to believe in vampires to enjoy our Romania holidays. Medieval Saxon towns, Gothic castles, traditional villages and forested mountains make for scenic sightseeing. The capital, Bucharest, is a highlight: see concrete Communist monuments alongside the remains of medieval churches and courts. Head to the Transylvanian Alps where bloodthirsty Vlad III, the 15th century model for Bram Stoker's Dracula, lived - though probably not in the Gothic 'Dracula's Castle' in Bran. The nearby cobbled town of Brasov is another treat on our holidays to Romania, with secret alleys and baroque buildings within medieval stone walls.
