Holiday frequently asked questions and essential information.
These should be advised at the time of booking however we cannot guarantee that your requirements will be met. Please note any request does not form part of your holiday arrangements.
Please tell us if you or a member of your travelling group requires special assistance prior to booking your holiday or within a reasonable period before travelling so that appropriate arrangements can be requested. We provide a safe and comfortable tour or cruise to our customers. We do not discriminate against any person based on disability and shall make every effort to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities. The safety of customers considering all relevant safety regulations and the structure of the holiday will be our paramount consideration. It is your responsibility to ensure you are medically fit to travel and fly. If you have a medical condition that requires carrying baggage that goes beyond the applicable allowance limit or any medical facilities on board a cruise ship then additional charges may apply. Please see our Booking Conditions for further information and terms with respect to special assistance. Any requests made for assistance will show on your booking invoice.
Passengers can take their own collapsible wheelchair on our tours and cruises. Please be aware there are places where the facilities at the town centres, ports and docks present some logistical challenges. For example, in towns and villages along the rivers, there can be cobbled roads and sidewalks, as well as steep or narrow pathways. We can check the suitability of your chosen tour or cruise.
Motorised scooters are not typically suitable for international tours even though they can be extremely light (10-15kg) and foldable. The use of foldable wheelchairs is recommended as an alternative. Please check if a scooter is suitable for your chosen holiday.
Requirements can change without notice and some inoculations or precautions although not compulsory may be advisable. Local conditions are subject to change and we suggest that you consult your GP, one of the specialist vaccination centres or visit the NHS Choices website http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/travelhealth/Pages/Travelhealth.aspx for more information within good time before your departure.
The safety standards and regulations, which apply overseas are those of the country concerned. Often regrettably, they cannot reach the same levels as the UK. We suggest you familiarise yourself with fire escapes and always check the depth and exits of swimming pools before swimming. Upset stomachs can be caused by the change in climate or drinking ice cold drinks, and are not necessarily due to local hygiene or food preparation standards. Please refer to https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice for most up to date information on your holiday destination.
If you have made us aware that you require special assistance you would have received a Welfare form to complete and return to us. Just highlight on the form that you require airport assistance and we will take it from there.
