On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This evening meet your Tour Director for a welcome briefing.
Depart Johannesburg and travel to Mpumalanga, enjoying a short orientation tour of Pretoria along the way. After, travel to the small town of Hazyview where you will stay overnight.
Enjoy a leisurely driving tour along the spectacular Panorama Route with its stunning scenery, including the 26 kilometre-long Blyde River Canyon. Your next stop is the historic God’s Window, a breathtaking view of the edge of the escarpment taking in the Kruger National Park.
Kruger is one of the world's great national parks, home to a stunning array of wildlife. The day begins with an early morning game drive with a pre-packed breakfast. Look out for the 'Big Five' (rhino, elephant, leopard, lion and buffalo), as well as a variety of birdlife. The afternoon is yours to relax or you may wish to enjoy an optional late afternoon game drive.
Head to Swaziland where you will stop at a village before continuing to your hotel via Mbabane and the Ezulwini Craft Market.
Travel to Zululand. Enjoy an optional afternoon open vehicle safari (with an English speaking game ranger) in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi game reserve.
This morning join a cruise on Lake St Lucia (weather dependant) before departing for Durban. The journey passes traditional Zulu Kraals, Eucalyptus plantations and sugar cane fields. Arrive early afternoon and the remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the golden beaches of the Indian Ocean.
Transfer to Durban (Umhlanga) airport for the short southward flight to Port Elizabeth. Visit the spectacularly beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park and Storms River Mouth (weather permitting), before continuing to the hotel in Knysna.
Enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western for panoramic views of the town and lagoon. Return for lunch under the milkwood trees, then enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure to further explore this charming town, which is set around a natural harbour lagoon.
Travel to Oudtshoorn, known as the "Ostrich Capital" and the centre of the world's ostrich farming industry. Enjoy a guided tour of an ostrich farm before exploring the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world's great natural wonders.
After breakfast, continue through the ‘Little Karoo’ to Barrydale, where you will have the opportunity to visit a local farm school, before travelling to Montagu, a picturesque and historic spa town. Continue to Franschhoek, a picturesque village surrounded by spectacular vineyards, where French Huguenots settled more than 300 years ago, bringing with them their age-old French wine and food culture. From here transfer to Cape Town.
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Cape Town before an evening of delicious Cape food, captivating theatre and entertaining tales and songs about the people of the Cape.
Enjoy a full day Cape Peninsula tour. Drive through Sea Point, the seaside village of Hout Bay and then to Cape Point where it is said that the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Return to Cape Town through the historic naval base of Simon's Town, where you will have the option to visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, Fish Hoek fishing village and Muizenberg.
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
