On arrival in Lima you will transfer to your hotel for two nights.
This morning enjoy a tour of Lima's historic downtown, with visits to the Presidential Palace and Lima Cathedral before exploring Saint Francis' Church. Continue on to the garden district of Miraflores and the residential area of San Isidro, ending at Love Park with a spectacular view of Lima's Bay.
Transfer to the airport for your morning flight to the former Inca imperial capital of Cusco. This afternoon, tour this colonial town with a visit to the Cathedral which houses 400 paintings. Head out to the city's scenic surroundings to see Sacsayhuaman - Inca ruins from the 15th century. Continue onto Qengo, an archaeological complex, before ending at Puka Pukara.
Spend the day in Pisac, a citadel town famous for its craft market. After lunch travel through amazing Inca-terraced valleys to the fortified village of Ollantaytambo, without doubt one of the most monumental works of the Incan empire.
Today will be an unforgettable day to one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, the legendary Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world's great archaeological treasures. Transfer to Ollanta train station for your journey to Aguas Calientes. After a short transfer you will reach the world's most photographed fortified mountain to enjoy this spellbinding site. (B)
Today is a day at leisure to enjoy the many attractions Cusco has to offer.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to La Paz, the worlds highest metropolis at 11,910 feet above sea level. In the afternoon enjoy a tour of the well-preserved colonial town with breathtaking panoramas framed by the majestic Illimani mountain. Visit Moon Valley, a clay formation resembling the face of the Moon.
This morning transfer to Lake Titicaca, South America's largest lake, for your cruise to the sacred Moon and Sun Islands. Visit the Inca Grand Stairs and Sacred Fountain, believed to give eternal youth and happiness. Cruise to Copacabana and continue overland to Huatajata where you will visit the Andean Roots Eco Village and have the opportunity to see the local handicrafts, mud igloos, llamas and alpacas. Journey overland back to La Paz.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. The rest of the day is at leisure so enjoy the many attractions this vibrant city has to offer.
A fantastic morning taking in many of the city's most cosmopolitan sights including the San Telmo neighbourhood, famous for its tango houses, La Boca with its artist community, the world's widest avenue - the magnificent Avenida 9 de Julio - and the grandiose Colon Theatre, one of the world's most splendid concert halls. Afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps join an optional excursion to the Tango Show in Café de los Angelitos.
Fly to Iguassu. Today visit a UNESCO site and one of the world's most spectacular natural phenomena. The extended chain of falls are set in a wildlife-rich rainforest. Arrive on the Argentinean side and take a train through the park followed by a walking tour to visit the upper walkways to the suspended platform of the Devil's Throat - the largest of the falls. Transfer to your hotel on the Brazilian side. (B)
Today discover the Brazilian side of the falls, starting with a scenic drive through the pristine Atlantic Forest vegetation of the Iguassu National Park. Follow the Iguassu River canyon with spellbinding views of more than 275 falls which form the horseshoe-shaped Iguassu Falls. Take a walking tour to a lookout at the bottom of the falls with water circling around. A glass lift will slowly take you up the cliff face for a spectacular view at the upper deck. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. (B)
Fly to Rio de Janeiro with its world-renowned Copacabana Beach. The afternoon will begin with an orientation tour, followed by taking the cable car to Urca Mountain for stunning views of Guanabara Bay and the surrounding mountains. Continue on the cable car to the famous Sugarloaf Mountain to experience a spectacular and breathtaking view of Rio de Janeiro.
Today is at leisure. Discover the hidden treasures of Rio de Janeiro. Perhaps take the optional Corcovado excursion to visit the statue of Christ the Redeemer. Alternatively enjoy your last day relaxing on one of Rio's famous beaches - Copacabana or Ipanema.
