Fly to Vancouver, the gateway to the Canadian Rockies. On arrival transfer to your hotel. This evening join your travelling companions and Tour Director for a welcome drink.
This morning, enjoy a tour Vancouver that includes the waterfront, Chinatown and Stanley Park with it's old-growth evergreen forests and totem poles. Later, continue to the ferry to Vancouver Island and the charming city of Victoria. Visit the world famous Butchart Gardens that is followed by a special dinner in the original Butchart family residence. Major attractions that will be seen on an orientation tour of Victoria include the Fairmont Empress Hotel, Bastion Square and Thunderbird Park.
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Victoria further. Perhaps, join an optional excursion whale watching or browse the elegant shops on Government Street. Why not enjoy a traditional afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel overlooking the bay?
Today, board a BC Ferry and cross the Strait of Georgia through the spectacular Gulf Islands, an archipelago known for it's Mediterranean-type climate. Enjoy a stop at Shannon Falls, where a boardwalk leads to a viewing platform near the base of the roaring falls. Continue to the resort of Whistler, nestled at the base of breathtaking Blackcomb Mountain. There will be time to explore many of the 2010 Winter Olympic sites.
Today is free to explore all that Whistler has to offer. Perhaps enjoy a trip on Whistler's Peak2Peak Gondola that connects Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. There is incredible scenery and photo opportunities along the longest unsupported gondola span in the world.
This morning, enjoy a visit and a private breakfast at the Squamish Lil'Wat Cultural Centre, dedicated to the history and culture of the First Nations people. Then, travel north through the heart of the magnificent Cariboo region. There is spectacular scenery on route past rolling hills, deeply incised rivers and sparkling lakes. Arrive this afternoon in Sun Peaks where the rest of the day is at leisure.
Today still heading north follow the Yellowhead Highway that hugs the mighty North Thompson River into Alberta. See the base of 12,972 Mount Robson (the highest point in the Canadian Rockies) before entering Jasper National Park. Marvel at the precipitous gorges, snowcapped summits and lakes of exquisite blues and greens in this wild mountain wilderness.
Enjoy a short sightseeing to see Jasper's unspoilt beauty and later travel to glacial Maligne Lake for a narrated cruise to Spirit Island. See Maligne Canyon on the return to Jasper.
This morning, travel through Jasper National Park on Icefields Parkway to the 1,200 ft thick Columbia Icefield for a thrilling Ice Explorer Ride. Climb Sunwapta Pass to savour stunning vistas of alpine meadows, waterfalls and massive glaciers. Continue up Bow Pass for views of Peyto Lake. Next, is a stop at Lake Louise, whose aqua marine waters form a perfect mirror reflection of Mount Victoria. Arrive later in Banff National Park.
Today, sightseeing includes a visit to Sulphur Mountain for a ride on the Banff Gondola, complete with panoramic views of the spectacular scenery. Included is a visit to Bow Falls and the Hoodoos (naturally sculptured rock formations). The rest of the day is at leisure before dinner at a local restaurant.
Today, cross the continental Divide via Kicking horse Pass into British Columbia and Yoho National Park. Enjoy panoramic vistas of peaks exceeding 10,000 ft on Rogers Pass at the summit in Canada's Glacier National Park. Start descending into the agricultural region of the Okanagan Valley to the resort city of Kelowna. There is a special dinner this evening at a local winery.
Today, continue through the fertile Fraser Valley, with grand vistas of vineyards and orchards, before travelling over the Cascade Mountains into Vancouver. The remainder of the day is at leisure before joining the Tour Director for a farewell dinner.
