Today, drive along the shores of Lake Ontario to the wonderful Niagara Falls. Included is a sightseeing cruise that goes up close to the thunderous falls. Later, return to Toronto for an orientation tour of the downtown area. Enjoy dinner atop the 1,815 ft high CN Tower before transferring to Union Station for the departure of 'The Canadian', this evening.
Watch the scenic countryside as you relax in first class refurbished art deco cars from the 1950s. Travel past the sparkling lakes and sun daplled forests of Ontario. Make sure to visit the observation dome for unparalleled views or enjoy discussing the journey in one of the comfortable lounges.
Enter Manitoba with it's endless golden prairies and vast cultivated fields. Arrive this morning in Manitoba's capital city of Winnipeg. Disembark the train for a while to explore this historic city, inlcuding Forks National Historic Site, a commercial hub for more than 5,000 years and now home to the forks Market that boasts a vast number of boutiques and restaurants. Reboard the train late this morning and continue travelling west.
From Winnipeg to Jasper, the train roughly parallels the famed Yellowhead Route, Canada's historic trail of westward expansion. Arrive in Jasper this afternoon. This evening, enjoy an excursion to Maligne Lake for a fully narrated cruise to Spirit Island. Afterwards, enjoy a lakeside dinner with incredible views and local fare, including famous Alberta Beef.
A full day at leisure to explore Jasper independently. Perhaps take an optional guided hike on the 'Path of the Glacier; where an experienced guide teachers you about the various glacier formations in the area. This afternoon, why not stroll the streets of Jasper with it's array of speciality stores.
This morning, travel through Jasper National Park on Icefields Parkway to the 1,200 ft thick Columbia Icefield for a thrilling Ice Explorer Ride. Climb Sunwapta Pass to savour stunning vistas of alpine meadows, waterfalls and massive glaciers. Continue up Bow Pass for views of Peyto Lake. Next, is a stop at Lake Louise, whose aqua marine waters form a perfect mirror reflection of Mount Victoria. Arrive later in Banff National Park.
Today, sightseeing includes a visit to Sulphur Mountain for a ride on the Banff Gondola, complete with panoramic views of the spectacular scenery. Included is a visit to Bow Falls and the Hoodoos (naturally sculptured rock formations).
Today, cross the continental Divide via Kicking horse Pass into British Columbia and Yoho National Park. Enjoy panoramic vistas of peaks exceeding 10,000 ft on Rogers Pass at the summit in Canada's Glacier National Park. Start descending into the agricultural region of the Okanagan Valley to the resort city of Kelowna, attractively set on the shores of Okanagan Lake.
Today, continue through the fertile Fraser Valley, with grand vistas of vineyards and orchards, before travelling over the Cascade Mountains into Vancouver. Catch a BC Ferry to Vancouver Island and the very British 'Garden City' of Victoria. On arrival, visit Butchart Gardens. Later, an orientation tour of Victoria includes the gardens of Beacon Hill Park, the Fairmont Empress Hotel, Bastion Square and Thunderbird Park. Over dessert this evening, enjoy a private presentation about why Victoria is considered the most haunted city in Canada. A local storyteller and historian will entertain you with stories of the city's interesting characters and colourful events.
Today is at leisure to explore Victoria independently or join an optional excursion. Perhaps take afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel overlooking the bay.
This morning take the ferry back to Vancouver and sail through the Gulf Islands, an archipelago known for it's Mediterranean-type climate. Arrive in Vancouver for a city tour that includes the harbour and beaches, Chinatown, historic Gastown and Stanley Park with it's towering evergreen forests and totem poles. This evening the Tour Director hosts a farewell dinner.

Niagara Falls Sightseeing Cruise: The operation of the sightseeing cruise is subject to favourable weather and/or river conditions. When conditions are unfavourable, a walking tour through the scenic tunnels will be substituted.

Accommodation: By day a private cabin for two, with armchairs, a large picture window, small closet, hand basin and separate toilet. At night the cabin converts to upper and lower beds. A separate shower room is located at the end of each carriage. Shower kit (including towels) is provided.
