This morning join the immersive tour of Lima's historic downtown, with visits to the Main Square including the Presidential Palace and the Lima Cathedral, Saint Francis Church, before exploring the residential district of San Isidro and garden district of Miraflores. This afternoon transfer to the airport for the flight to Cusco.
This morning enjoy an included sightseeing tour of this beautiful colonial town, soaking up the old town and the Plaza de Armas, the epicentre of the Inca empire, before heading out to the city's scenic surroundings to see Sacsayhuaman - Inca ruins, Kenko, Tambo Machay - the bath of the Inca and Puca Pukara, the ruin of a small fort.
Today is a full day excursion to Pisaq. See the citadel which is a town built in the form of a partridge and famous for two reasons. First, the craft market, established between colonial buildings and the other for the most impressive terraces in the valley. After lunch, continue to the village of Ollantaytambo, a typical example of urban planning of the Incas still inhabited like in the past. The fortress of Ollantaytambo is a major archaeological site that although it was called a "fortress" it was a "tambo" town for rest and lodging of long distance travellers. Later return to Cusco.
A once-in-a-lifetime trip to legendary Machu Picchu awaits you this morning. Machu Picchu is one of the great archaeological treasures of the world, whose purpose is still a mystery. Your tour to Machu Picchu begins with a train ride to Aguas Calientes in approximately one hour and 30 minutes. This town is also known as "Machu Picchu pueblo" and is the last stop before the entrance to the remains of the most important archaeological site in Peru. In the afternoon return by train to Ollanta and then return to the hotel in Cusco.
This morning transfer to the airport for the flight to La Paz. On arrival transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a city tour of La Paz exploring this well-preserved colonial old town. Afterwards follow the La Paz river to view the awesome Moon Valley, a clay formation resembling the face of the moon.
Travel overland La Paz to Cocotoni, located at the shores of Lake Titicaca. Enjoy a Hydrofoil cruise to Moon Island, visit the Sun Virgins Temple "Iñak Uyu". Continue to Sun Island. Visit the Inca "Grand Stairs" and the Sacred Fountain, taste the water which is believed to give eternal youth and happiness. After lunch continue on the Hydrofoil cruise to Copacabana. Once in Copacabana, visit the shrine and the Dark Indian Virgin. Overland journey to Huatajata with Tiquina Strait crossing. On arrival, visit the Andean Roots Eco Village: The Altiplano Museum, Handicrafts village, the Mud Igloos and the mortuary towers of the Urus Chipayas. Meet the Limachi family, builders of the RA II and Tigris for epic expeditions across the Atlantic Ocean. Return to La Paz overland.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day at leisure to explore this vibrant city.
This morning enjoy a tour of Buenos Aires that includes some of the most interesting places of this cosmopolitan city such as Plaza de Mayo square, the Government House, the Cabildo (Colonial Town Hall) the Metropolitan Cathedral, Avenida de Mayo, the Congress Palace, the Colon Theatre and La Boca, San Telmo, Palermo and Recoleta neighbourhoods. The afternoon is at leisure. This evening why not experience an optional visit to the popular Tango Show in Café de los Angelitos - including dinner. The Porteños, name of the habitants of Buenos Aires, show the different variations of the Tango, as well as the classic instrument the "Bandoneon".
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Iguazu. You will be met by a local guide to visit the Argentinian side of the Iguazu falls. Experience an extensive experience of the falls and surrounding rainforest. Arrive at the Argentine Iguazu Park, to visit the Devil Throat and take an electric train for a tour through the park with 2 stops until the trail where the walking tour begins to the visit the upper walkways which allows a different and more intimate contact with the falls and the rainforest. The highlight of the trip is a visit to the suspended platform at the very brink of the abysmal Devil's Throat - largest of the waterfalls. Return by train to visit the upper Argentinian falls, including the San Martin Falls. After discovering the falls transfer to the hotel on the Brazilian side of the falls.
Today, discover the falls located inside the Iguazu National Park on the Brazil side. From the Iguassu National Park main gate to the top of the trail leading to the falls is a 25km drive through pristine Atlantic Forest lush vegetation. The trail, down to the Iguassu river canyon leads to the spectacle of more than 275 falls that form the horseshoe-shaped Iguassu Falls. A walking tour will goes to the bottom, where a lookout takes you to the edge to be close to the cascading waters. A glass elevator moves slowly up the cliff face for an exquisite view at the upper deck. The water volume is staggering and when the waters are high - sheer emotion! Later, transfer to the airport for the flight to Rio de Janeiro. On arrival meet the local guide and transfer to the hotel for two nights.
After breakfast enjoy a half day city tour of Rio, including the São Bento Monastery, Praça XV de Novembro Square, Vice-Roy's Palace, Candelaria Church and Casa França-Brasil. Continue to Sugar Loaf Mountain for truly breath-taking views of Rio de Janeiro. Afternoon at leisure. Why not take an optional excursion of Corcovado to one of Wonders of the World: Christ the Redeemer, which crowns the top of the Corcovado mountain with stunning views of Guanabara Bay, Sugar Loaf and the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema below.
