We had a very mixed holiday and will be complaining about the 3 days in Cape town which were an utter disaster. The local agent Springbok Atlas delivered a very good tour of Kruger National Park over the first few days. Our Hotel (Protea Kruger Park) was exceptional, the food was brilliant and the design of the hotel was completely unique. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Safari, during which we saw Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Rhinos, Hippos, Crocodiles and many other exotic animals. The tour to the Blade river valley was also very good and our guide (Ted) was excellent throughout both the safari and river tours. Cape town, however, was an utter disaster. Firstly our hotel was changed from the Breakwater lodge in the heart of the Victoria and Albert waterfront to Protea Sea View, which was a 1hour 30 min walk from the V&A waterfront. This cost us about £60 in taxi fees to get to and from the V&A for meals as the area we were located in did not feel safe or secure. Furthermore the city tour was an utter waste of time! The tour was meant to show us the city in the morning then drop us at Table Mountain at the end in order to spend the afternoon walking and taking in the views. The tour guide dropped us at table mountain first told us to go up and down at our own cost leaving us just 20 mins at the top, rather than the whole afternoon. He then proceeded then drive around the city for just over 1 hour, giving us no time to get out and explore the sights. We did not even get to see at least 3 of the billed attractions (springbok atlas confirmed this was the wrong tour when we complained to them). The final nail in the coffin was the Wine lands tour. We were told to wait at our hotel for pick up at 1400 to depart for Stellenbosch. At 1400 a tour guide arrived claiming we were booked on the peninsula tour and not the wine lands. By the time they realised their mistake and sent a driver to pick us up we had missed the first 2 hours of the tour. We therefore missed the first wine tasting and did not have time for a proper tour of the vineyards. What made my whole experience worse was that I planned on proposing to my fiancé on table mountain and had to rush through it quickly as we only had one chance to go up! In summary I would not recommend this tour to anyone Springbok atlas are an utter joke, incapable of organising anything correctly. Think seriously before booking this trip
