Take in sights such as the elaborate neo-renaissance town hall and the Church of St. Michael before visiting historical Lubeck, a 12th century gem boasting more than a thousand historical buildings and renowned for its brick Gothic architecture. Journey by ferry from Puttgarden to Rodby and continue on to Copenhagen.

Get your bearings in creative and laid-back Gothenburg, which lies on the Göta älv river. Discover the city’s Dutch-style canals and leafy boulevards before continuing on to the Norwegian capital of Oslo.
Crowning the head of a vast fjord, Oslo is brimming with fine buildings, museums and monuments, conveniently centred around Karl Johan's Gate. Your local guide will take you on a sightseeing tour of the city’s key attractions, such as Akershus Castle, a 14th-century fortress built to defend Oslo from Swedish invasion. You can also tick the City Hall, National Theatre, Parliament, Royal Palace and Broadcasting House off your list. A guided walk through Frogner Park gives you chance to contemplate Gustav Vigeland's sculptures, which represent the various stages of life.
Set out on a scenic drive through the heart of the forest-clad Halingdal Valley, stopping for a breather in the municipality of Gol. When you get to Borgund, you'll visit the fairy-tale, wooden church, before heading towards scenic Flåm, where you'll spend the night.
Enjoy a spectacular rail journey from Flam to Myrdal and a Sognefjord cruise, Norway's longest and deepest fjord, where unforgettable panoramas unfold before you in an ever-changing vista of staggering beauty and you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the 'away-from-it-all' atmosphere. In the evening, head to Bergen and the Thon Bristol hotel (3*) for two nights.
Known as the 'gateway to the Norwegian fjords' and the 'city of seven hills', charming Bergen was the birthplace of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg and the original capital of Norway. Bursting with history, culture and picture-postcard charm, it sits dotted amongst the steep, surrounding mountain slopes creating an amphitheatre effect around the harbour front. There are plenty of sights and optional activities including the brightly painted Hanseatic merchants' houses of Bryggen Wharf, an open-air museum and a funicular railway to the summit of Mount Fløyen, whose peaks provide spellbinding views over the city and the surrounding seascape.
